Vienna, Austria (My Sportsbook) - Top seeds Marin Cilic of Croatia and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic were easy first-round winners Tuesday at the Bank Austria Tennis Trophy. Cilic dismissed Colombian qualifier Alejandro Falla 6-2, 6-3, while Stepanek handled Poland's Lukasz Kubot 6-4, 6-1 on the indoor hardcourts at Wiener Stadthalle. Up next for Cilic will be German Daniel Brands, while Stepanek will face Portuguese Frederico Gil. Meanwhile, fourth-seeded German Philipp Kohlschreiber whipped countryman qualifier Dieter Kindlmann 6-1, 6-3, sixth-seeded Spaniard Feliciano Lopez topped Austrian wild card Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-4, 6-4 and seventh-seeded Austrian crowd favorite Jurgen Melzer held off Swiss Marco Chiudinelli 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (12-10). Lopez captured his lone ATP title right here five years ago. Additional opening-round wins came for German lucky-loser Michael Berrer and Czech Jan Hajek. Berrer replaced 2008 Vienna champion Philipp Petzschner in the draw. The German Petzschner, who withdrew from the field on Tuesday because of a calf injury, upset French star Gael Monfils in last year's Vienna finale.
