Lyon, France (My Sportsbook) - Seeds Juan Monaco of Argentina and Julien Benneteau of France were among Monday's first-round winners at the Lyon Tennis Grand Prix. The fifth-seeded world No. 30 Monaco mauled France's Josselin Ouanna 6-3, 6-2, while a fifth-seeded Benneteau handled Spaniard Alberto Martin 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 on the indoor carpet at Palais des Sports Lyon Gerland. Benneteau was last year's Lyon runner-up to two-time champion Robin Soderling, who is not defending his title here this week. One other opening-rounder on Day 1 saw Frenchman Florent Serra paste Belgian Christophe Rochus 6-3, 6-3. This week's top seeds are heavy French crowd favorites Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gilles Simon.
