Davie, FL (My Sportsbook) - Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during this past Sunday's game against New Orleans and will miss the rest of the season. Allen was hurt during the third quarter of the 46-34 loss. "It's an ACL injury. Will is done [for the season]," Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said Monday. Allen, in his fourth season with the Dolphins and his ninth in the NFL, was leading the team with two interceptions. He had also notched 21 tackles, including 19 solo. First-round draft pick Vontae Davis is likely to step into Allen's starting spot at left cornerback, giving the Dolphins two rookies at cornerback. Second-round pick Sean Smith is the starting right corner. Sparano indicated that the Dolphins could bring in a veteran to take Allen's roster spot. "We'll look at some things as we get on this week, determine some different options," Sparano stated. Allen, a first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2001 after a standout career at Syracuse, has 15 career interceptions.
