Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - Carson Palmer threw five touchdowns and Cedric Benson had a great game against his former team as the Cincinnati Bengals dominated the Chicago Bears, 45-10.

Palmer went 20-for-24 with 233 yards while Benson, who was released by Chicago last season and played against his former squad for the first time, amassed 189 yards on 37 carries with a score for the Bengals (5-2), who bounced back from last week's loss to Houston. Chad Ochocinco had 10 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Jay Cutler was picked off three times and finished the game 26-for-37 with 251 yards and a score for the Bears (3-3), who have dropped their past two games after their bye week. Devin Hester had eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown.

The Bengals started the game with the ball and used just four minutes and eight plays to get on the board. Facing a 3rd-and-3, Palmer hooked up with Chris Henry for 17 yards and on the next play Benson ran down the right sideline for 23 yards. Palmer and Henry hooked up later on a nine-yard score for a 7-0 lead.

Chicago got the ball across midfield on its ensuing touch, but had to punt the ball away.

Cincinnati again struck quick as the team needed eight plays and just over four minutes to double its lead. Benson ran for 18 yards on the first play and Ochocinco later caught a 19-yard pass to get the ball across midfield. Facing a 1st-and-goal at the eight-yard line, Palmer lofted a pass into the right corner of the end zone where Ochocinco hauled it in for a 14-0 lead with just over a minute to play in the first.

The Bears were held to a three-and-out on their next possession and the Bengals again went to work. On the second play of the drive, Palmer and Laveranues Coles got together for a 29-yard play. Five plays later, Palmer sent a bloop pass to the left side where J.P. Foschi hauled it in from three yards out for his first career touchdown and a 21-0 lead with just over 11 minutes to play in the first half.

Chicago drove into Cincinnati territory on its following drive, but Hester fumbled a ball as he was tackled and the Bengals recovered. Palmer then made it a 28-0 game as he threw a quick pass to Coles, who took it in from eight yards out with under three minutes to play.

"That was amazing," said Palmer. "Blowouts like this don't happen against good teams. That's a good, physical team offensively and defensively; they're going to win games and make a push for the playoffs."

Cutler was picked off on the second play after Chicago got the ball back and Shayne Graham hit a 29-yard field goal for a 31-0 lead with just 1:10 to play in the second quarter.

"I think, for the first time this year, we played a complete football game," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. "We came out and played football."

Chicago finally got on the board on the last play of the half as Robbie Gould booted a 22-yard field goal to make it a 31-3 game going into the break.

Cincinnati got the only points of the third quarter as Ochocinco's 13-yard touchdown strike with under five minutes remaining in the frame gave the team a 38-3 lead.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Benson punched the ball into the end zone from a yard out for a 45-3 advantage.

Chicago, though, answered on its ensuing drive to finally get the ball in the end zone as Hester capped the eight-play drive with a five-yard catch to make it a 45-10 game.

"The Chicago Bears should never lose a football game like that," said Bears head coach Lovie Smith. "Tough day at the office for us, nothing went right, we knew we were playing a good offense, but we should be able to hold them down better than that...I didn't have my team ready to go this week."

Game Notes

Ochocinco has caught a pass in 112 straight games...Cincinnati has off next week and will next play on November 8 at home against Baltimore...Chicago hosts Cleveland next Sunday...The Bengals have taken four of the last five games against Chicago...Cincinnati is just 2-2 at home this season...The Bears are 1-3 on the road this season...The Bengals totaled 215 yards on the ground while Chicago managed just 35 yards from its rushing attack.
