Charleston, SC (My Sportsbook) - Matt Every shot a five-under 67 on Sunday to win the Nationwide Tour Championship and earn a spot on the PGA Tour for the 2010 season.

Every collected his first victory on Sunday and finished at 21-under 267. He pocketed $180,000 for the win and that vaulted him into the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list.

The top-25 players on the money list after Sunday's final round earned their PGA Tour cards for 2010. Every began the week in 49th place and needed a huge week to get to the tour next year and that's exactly what he got.

"It's great," said Every, who will be a PGA Tour rookie next year. "I waited as long as I could to win. I got lucky a couple of times, and that happens I guess when you win."

Michael Sim finished second after a three-under 69 on Sunday. He came in at 18-under 270, but even a runner-up finish at Ralston Creek Course at the Daniel Island Club couldn't sour his year.

Sim earned an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour thanks to three victories this season on the Nationwide Tour. He won the money title, which gets him full status and a spot in the 2010 Players Championship.

Steve Wheatcroft carded an even-par 72 on Sunday and shared third place with Josh Teater, who had a 70 in the final round. The pair finished at 13-under 275, but that was enough to get Wheatcroft into the top 25. He started the championship in 31st place on the money list, but got inside the magic number and is off to the PGA Tour next season.

With Every and Wheatcroft moving into the top 25, two people fell out and lost their chances at the next level.

Brian Stuard, who was 23rd, tied for 14th, but it wasn't enough. Alistair Presnell, the bubble man on Thursday at No. 25, shared 19th and didn't stay in the 25th spot.

Craig Bowden was 24th heading into this week, but a tie for seventh kept him safely inside the top 25.

"I did a lot of really good things today," said Bowden. "It was a tough day today. I had one of those days. I rose to the occasion when I had to and I'm damn proud of myself."

Every began the final round with a one-shot lead over Sim, but an eagle at the par-five sixth got him two clear after Sim was one-under after six holes. Every birdied Nos. 8 and 11 and was comfortably in front.

Sim made only two birdies after his one-under start and never mounted a serious charge. Every birdied the 15th after a Sim birdie at 14 and that gave the winner a three-stroke cushion.

That was all he needed to cruise into the clubhouse with his first win.

"Michael played great. He's a great pro," said Every of his runner-up. "It was really good competition out there today. I'm sure he'll beat me 100 more times."

Esteban Toledo needed a better finish to get into the top 25. He shot a one- under 71 on Sunday and tied for fifth place with Cameron Percy, who had an even-par 72 in the final round. The pair came in at 12-under 276.
