Alkmaar, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Luis Suarez scored twice in the second half to increase his Eredivisie-leading total to 15 through just 11 games, and Ajax handed defending champion AZ Alkmaar its sixth loss, 4-2 on Sunday.
Urby Emanuelson and Gregory Van Der Wiel also scored in the second half during a stretch of four straight goals for Ajax, which moved to third with the win.
AZ, which got goals from Mounir El Hamdaoui and Graziano Pelle, won the league last season and lost four games. AZ is already 14 points off the pace of first and current leaders Twente.
Hamdaoui fired AZ into the lead in the 28th minute, but Emanuelson leveled in the 57th to start Ajax's four-goal outburst.
Suarez notched his first of the match one minute later, Van Der Wiel added his name to the scoresheet in the 65th and Suarez added his second in the 90th.
Pelle tallied a late goal for AZ to cap the scoring.
Twente maintained a two-point cushion atop the league with a 4-0 victory over Groningen, while PSV Eindhoven kept pace in second with a 4-0 win over NEC.
Miroslav Stoch, Dwight Tiendalli, Blaise N'Kufo and Bryan Ruiz all scored for Twente, while Balazs Dzsudzsak, Jonathan Reis, Otman Bakkal and Danko Lazovic scored for PSV.
Also Sunday, Frank Demouge scored two goals to lead Willem II to a 4-1 victory over Heerenveen.
Earlier this weekend, Utrecht edged Roda 2-1, Sparta edged Den Haag 3-2, NAC beat RKC Waalwijk 1-0, Heracles beat Vitesse 2-0 and Feyenoord beat Venlo 1-0.
