London, England (My Sportsbook) - Chelsea returned to the top of the Premiership table with a convincing 5-0 win over Blackburn at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Gael Givet's own goal put Blackburn behind after 20 minutes, but it wasn't until the second half that Chelsea really got going as the Blues put four past Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson, including two from Frank Lampard.
Chelsea is now two points clear of second-placed Manchester United, which travels to Liverpool on Sunday, while Blackburn is 15th.
Joe Cole came close to scoring in the opening minute for Chelsea when he nodded a free header past the past from six yards, while Lampard just missed the upper right corner from the edge of the area.
The home side was clearly on top but it wasn't until the 20th minute that they took the lead as Nicolas Anelka's low cross was redirected past Robinson by Givet.
The Blackburn keeper kept his team within a goal after he made good saves on Anelka and John Terry before halftime, but it didn't take the Blues long to start scoring in the second half.
Didier Drogba's cross was deflected towards the penalty spot and Lampard was on hand to hammer it home with a first-time strike, while a curling shot from Michael Essien beat Robinson from 35 yards.
Drogba then drew a penalty kick in the 59th minute when he was brought down inside the area by Ryan Nelsen, and Lampard converted from the spot before Drogba capped the scoring in the 64th minute by heading home a corner kick from close range.
Third-placed Tottenham suffered a surprising 1-0 defeat at home against Stoke City as Glenn Whelan scored in the 86th minute, Portsmouth and Hull City finished 0-0 at the KC Stadium, Hugo Rodallega scored a pair of goals in Wigan's 3-1 victory over Burnley, Birmingham downed Sunderland, 2-1, and Aston Villa was held to a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake converted from the penalty spot with seven minutes remaining.
