Moscow, Russia (My Sportsbook) - Muscovite Mikhail Youzhny overpowered qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan Saturday in the semifinals at the $1.08 million Kremlin Cup tennis event. The third-seeded Youzhny dropped only three games en route to a 6-2, 6-1 triumph on the indoor hardcourts at Olympic Stadium. In order for Youzhny to stake claim to his first title of the year and fifth of his career, he will have to defeat Serbian Janko Tipsarevic, who has won both of their previous encounters. Tipsarevic, seeded sixth, cruised past Ukrainian qualifier Illya Marchenko 6-1, 6-4 in the other semifinal to reach his first ATP World Tour title match. The 2009 Moscow champ will collect $170,000.
