Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - Washington Redskins stalwart left tackle Chris Samuels is reportedly expected to retire after suffering a neck injury two weeks ago in a game against Carolina. The Washington Post reported Samuels' decision. The six-time Pro Bowl selection was originally expected to miss only one game after a stinger forced him out of the game against the Panthers, but he decided to retire after consulting with a specialist in California. The third overall pick by Washington in the 2000 NFL Draft out of Alabama, Samuels became the team's starting left tackle right away and has remained in that position for nine-plus seasons. He has started in each of his 141 career appearances, missing only eight regular season games.
