Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Rangers coach Walter Smith has confirmed that midfielder Pedro Mendes could be out for more than two months due to a knee injury. The 30-year-old Portuguese was forced out of the midweek Champions League defeat by Unirea Urziceni at half-time at Ibrox and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. However, defender Madjid Bougherra should be back in action in the near future after his knee problems proved to far less serious. Smith told reporters: "Madjid shouldn't be out of action for too long, but Pedro is looking at around six weeks, probably closer to eight weeks though. "So it leaves us a bit thin on the ground."
