Barcelona, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Barcelona captain Carles Puyol agreed to a three-year contract extension Friday, the club announced on its website. Puyol will sign the contract in the next few days, according to the club. His current deal with Barcelona expired at the end of this season. The 31-year-old joined Barcelona's youth ranks in 1995 and made his first-team debut in 1999. Puyol is fourth on the club's all-time appearance list with 451 matches and second in European appearances with 104. Puyol, a central defender, has scored seven career goals. He has started six of the club's seven La Liga matches this season and two of the three Champions League games. |
