Springfield, MA (My Sportsbook) - Providence Bruins center Vladimir Sobotka has been named the American Hockey League's Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 18. Sobotka recorded three goals, three assists and a plus-four rating in two games, both P-Bruins home wins during the span. This past Friday, Sobotka scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in his team's 4-2 win over the Lowell Devils. On Sunday he scored two goals and two assists in a 7-2 win over the Portland Pirates. Sobotka, 22, was recalled by Boston following Sunday's win along with Brad Marchand and Guillaume Lefebvre. Should Sobotka return to Providence this season, he will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to a P-Bruins home game in recognition of his AHL honor.
