Florham Park, NJ (My Sportsbook) - The New York Jets placed defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on injured reserve and re-signed defensive tackle Howard Green on Tuesday. Jenkins tore the ACL in his left knee during the Jets' 16-13 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 360-pounder was injured late in the second quarter on a Fred Jackson run when teammate Shaun Ellis apparently fell on him while making a tackle. The nine-year veteran -- in his second season with New York -- had 15 tackles on the year and no sacks. He has 24 career sacks in 107 games with Carolina and the Jets, also recording 281 tackles. Jenkins originally joined the Jets on February 29, 2008 in a trade with the Panthers. Green was released by the Jets on October 17 after signing with them as a free agent on March 16. The 6-foot-2, 320-pound Louisiana State product has recorded seven tackles in three games this season. In 13 games with Seattle in 2008, Green had 21 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. Also on Tuesday, New York signed Antonio Garay to the practice squad. The Boston College product was originally the sixth-round draft selection by Cleveland in 2003.
