Stockholm, Sweden (My Sportsbook) - Fourth-seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina and tall Swedish crowd favorite Joachim Johansson were among Monday's first- round victors at the Stockholm Open. Monaco got past Czech Jan Hernych 6-2, 5-7, 7-5, while the 6-foot-6 wild card Johansson swatted 21 aces en route to a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Aussie Peter Luczak. In other action involving seeds, German Simon Greul upended No. 6 countryman Benjamin Becker 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 and Argentine Leonardo Mayer erased No. 7 Spaniard Albert Montanes 6-4, 6-3 on the indoor courts at Royal Tennis Hall. One other Day-1 winner was Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Argentine David Nalbandian, who is not defending his title this year, bested Sweden's own Robin Soderling in last year's Stockholm finale. The 2008 French Open runner-up Soderling, who also reached the final here in 2003, is this week's top seed.
