Concord, NC (My Sportsbook) - Jimmie Johnson took command in the "Chase for the Sprint Cup" championship by winning Saturday's NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Johnson edged Kasey Kahne out of the pits during the final round of stops and then held off Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon in several late-race restarts to win his third Chase race this season. He also collected his sixth victory at Charlotte. With the victory, Johnson padded his lead to 90 points over Mark Martin and 135 ahead of Gordon. Matt Kenseth finished second, followed by Kahne, Gordon and rookie Joey Logano. Juan Pablo Montoya suffered his worst finish of the season with a 35th-place run. Montoya was involved in an incident with Martin after a restart in the early going. He is now sixth in points.
