-Iowa cornerback Amari Spievey had two interceptions as the 11th-ranked Hawkeyes rallied to beat Wisconsin 20-10.
-Fordham quarterback John Skelton threw for 420 yards, passed for five touchdowns and rushed for a score to lead the Rams to a 39-27 win over Cornell.
-Boston College tailback Montel Harris rushed for 264 yards and five touchdowns, both school records, as the Eagles beat North Carolina State 52-20.

FIGHT ON ... AND ON
After Jimmy Clausen's pass fell incomplete near the goal line, Southern California's players celebrated another victory over archrival Notre Dame. Then the officials decided that there was 1 second remaining. So USC lined up again, Clausen missed again and the sixth-ranked Trojans held on for a 34-27 victory over No. 25 Notre Dame. USC has won a record eight straight games against the Fighting Irish, the last five against Charlie Weis.
LOOKING AHEAD
The first Bowl Championship Series standings come out on Sunday, and they should be consumed with a shaker of salt. In the first 11 years of the scheme, the top two teams in the opening standings have reached the title game once - when Texas and Southern California met for the championship after the 2005 season. Overall, only 10 of the 22 teams that were ranked first or second in the first standings made it all the way to the championship game.
O-H! ... UH-OH
It looks as if we won't have Ohio State to kick around in the BCS title game. The seventh-ranked Buckeyes fell to Purdue 26-18 in a defeat that was largely of their own making. Jim Tressel's team was whistled for nine penalties for 65 yards - one less than its rushing total. The most foolish penalty came when Doug Worthington grabbed a facemask in the final minutes, giving the Boilermakers the first down that let them run out the clock. ``Right now, we've just got to be worried about the Big Ten because the national championship is gone,'' said Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles.
HOW 'BOUT THEM HAWKS?
Don't look now, but the 11th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes - who had to block two late field goals to beat Northern Iowa in their opener - are 7-0 after rallying to defeat border rival Wisconsin 20-10 in Madison. The Hawkeyes may not be pretty, but they're gritty. On Saturday, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said his team dealt with the flu this week, although he didn't discuss specifics. ``It's reflective of our team,'' Ferentz said. ``We keep pushing forward.''
BAD NEWS FOR BRADFORD
Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford's college career may be over after he re-injured his right shoulder in the first quarter of No. 20 Oklahoma's 16-13 loss to No. 3 Oklahoma. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner was first hurt Sept. 5 against BYU when he sprained an AC joint in his throwing shoulder.
QUOTE, UNQUOTE
``Right now, a win against anybody is good for our football program.'' - Purdue coach Danny Hope after the Boilermakers beat No. 7 Ohio State 26-18 for their second win. The first came against Toledo, which means Purdue is 2-0 against the state of Ohio and 0-5 against the rest of the U.S.
FOURTH AND INCHES
Oklahoma is 0-3 against ranked opponents in road or neutral-site games and 3-0 against Idaho State, Tulsa and Baylor in Norman. Next up for the so-so Sooners: No. 17 Kansas in Lawrence. ... Paul Rice's 40-yard run on a touchdown on a fake punt produced the only score in Yale's 7-0 win at Lehigh. ... Eastern Illinois officially retired Tony Romo's No. 17 in a ceremony on Saturday. ``It's almost embarrassing that everybody wants to look at you and tell you that you did something good,'' the Dallas Cowboys quarterback said. As Eastern's quarterback from 2000-02, Romo was chosen Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year three times. In 2002, he won the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding offensive player in the FCS. ... Georgia came in ranked 100th nationally in scoring defense but had three sacks and an interception in a 34-10 victory at Vanderbilt. Vandy has scored a total of 29 points in four SEC games and, not surprisingly, lost them all.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
