EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Matt Birk is coming back to Minnesota. After growing up in the capital city of St. Paul, it's strange for Birk to be a visitor in his home state. That's exactly what he'll be on Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens play the Vikings at the Metrodome. Birk played 11 seasons for Minnesota and was picked for six Pro Bowls. The 33-year-old center signed with Baltimore in March, citing the challenge and a desire for a fresh start as reasons for his decision. Birk lost the opportunity to snap the ball to Brett Favre, who's now the quarterback of the Vikings. Birk says he doesn't regret his choice, though. He is playing with Joe Flacco, one of the league's top young quarterbacks.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
