Manning, Colts keep Titans reeling

Nashville, TN (My Sportsbook) - Peyton Manning threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns, all while notching another milestone as the Indianapolis Colts remained unbeaten with a 31-9 rout of the winless Tennessee Titans.

Manning, who completed 36-of-44 passes and was intercepted once, has 345 career passing touchdowns, moving him past Fran Tarkenton (342) for the third- most TD tosses in history. Only Brett Favre (473) and Dan Marino (420) are ahead of Manning.

The Colts have won their last 14 straight non-playoff contests, last losing a regular season game in Nashville during Week 8 of the 2008 ledger.

It was another spectacular performance for the three-time league MVP, who has thrown for at least 300 yards in all five games this season. He's just the third QB to accomplish the feat in the first five games to start a campaign, joining Kurt Warner (2000) and Steve Young (1998).

Austin Collie had eight catches for 97 yards and two scores for the Colts (5-0), who also received a rushing touchdown from Joseph Addai.

Indianapolis heads into the bye week with a matchup looming at winless St. Louis in two weeks.

Kerry Collins connected on 19-of-32 passes for 164 yards with an interception before yielding to Vince Young midway through the fourth quarter for the Titans (0-5), who have witnessed a complete flip from last season. In 2008, Jeff Fisher's team started 10-0 on the way to winning the AFC South.

This is also the worst start for the Titans since they went 0-5 to begin the 2006 campaign before a Week 6 victory at Washington.

The Colts capitalized on an Alge Crumpler fumble in the opening quarter to move ahead, 7-0. Manning finished off the 23-yard drive with a three-yard TD strike to Reggie Wayne.

Rob Bironas kicked a 49-yard field goal for the Titans with 4:20 left in the opening quarter and his 43-yard kick with 28 seconds left in the period got the hosts within a point. That field goal came after Keith Bulluck picked off Manning.

The Colts, though, took command in the second quarter. Addai plowed up the middle for a one-yard score, culminating an 81-yard drive.

After Bironas split the uprights from 46 yards away, Manning found Collie for a 39-yard score with just 17 seconds left in the half, providing the 21-9 cushion. The march was assisted by a pair of roughing-the-passer penalties. Collie caught the ball over the middle, beating Bulluck in coverage, and broke a tackle near the goal line.

Tim Jennings intercepted Collins just three plays into the third quarter, and the reigning NFL MVP made the Titans pay by tossing a six-yard scoring TD to Collie to cap the 31-yard drive for the 28-9 cushion.

Collins failed to convert on a fourth down pass from the Indy 32 later in the third and Adam Vinatieri booted a 23-yard field goal midway through the fourth. That capped a 15-play, 70-yard drive that ate up more than 8 1/2 minutes.

Young came into the game with 7:26 remaining, but failed to move the Titans past midfield.

Game Notes

The Colts have won 10 of the last 13 meetings...The Titans play at New England next Sunday...Titans tight end Craig Stevens suffered a concussion on the game's opening kickoff and was taken to a local hospital. Stevens was in on the tackle when he collided helmet-to-helmet with teammate Michael Griffin...Titans cornerback Nick Harper broke his right forearm...The 14-game regular season winning streak is the longest in Colts franchise history.
