Munich, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic sustained a calf injury while on international duty with Croatia, and has already been ruled out of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan. Olic was injured during training on Friday, when "I felt as though my calf had burst," he told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti. He was to be examined in Munich on Sunday, when the extent of the injury will be discovered. Olic just joined Bayern this offseason, and he has played in every Bundesliga match and contributed two goals. Croatia needs a win against Kazakhstan and help from Andorra to earn a spot in the European playoffs for one of the last four spots from UEFA. Ukraine, which plays Andorra on Wednesday, moved into second place in the teams' group with a 1-0 win against England on Saturday. The top eight second-place finishers in the European qualifying groups advance to play a two-game, home-and-home series for a berth in the World Cup.
