La Paz, Bolivia (My Sportsbook) - Edgar Olivares and Marcelo Moreno scored in the first 30 minutes, helping Bolivia edge Brazil 2-1 on Sunday in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Bolivia won for the fourth time in nine home qualifying games at the Hernando Siles, which sits 11,800 feet above sea level in the Andes. Bolivia, which was already eliminated from World Cup contention, also beat Argentina at home.
Brazil had already secured another trip to the World Cup finals, but lost just its second qualifying match and is tied atop the South American standings with just one match remaining.
Olivares headed Bolivia in front just 10 minutes into the match and Moreno put his side up two goals in the 30th off a free kick from 20 yards.
Brazil's Nilmar cut the deficit in half in the 69th, heading in an assist from Maicon, but Bolivia held on for the unlikely victory.
Brazil hosts Venezuela on Wednesday, when South America wraps up qualifying. Brazil needs a win to secure first in the group. Paraguay, which is level on points with Brazil in second, hosts Colombia.
Brazil, Paraguay and Chile have already clinched berths in the World Cup.
Chile, which is three points back, hosts Ecuador - one of three teams still in contention for the final two qualifying spots.
Argentina holds the fourth automatic qualifying spot but faces a tough game at Uruguay, which sits one point off in fifth. Argentina can finish no worse than fifth with a draw, but Ecuador will jump at least one of the teams with a win.
The fifth-place team will play a two-match, home-and-home series against the fourth-place finisher from CONCACAF for a spot in the World Cup.
Bolivia visits Peru in a clash of the bottom two teams in the standings in the other qualifying match in South America on Wednesday.
