Wolverhampton, England (My Sportsbook) - Wolverhampton goalkeeper Matt Murray has returned to training as he continues his battle to return to full fitness following a succession of serious injuries. The 28-year-old has not made a first-team appearance for Wolves since May 2007 and, while on loan at Hereford United last term, ruptured a patella tendon almost a year ago. Boss Mick McCarthy said: "He's doing his level best to get back. I don't think he's anywhere near a game yet, but he's joining in with training. "We're taking shots at him and he's taking crosses and shots, so he's making real progress. "It's great for Matt, first and foremost. It doesn't matter how much running and weights you do, you want to get back playing football, which for him is catching crosses and diving, getting at people's feet and blocking things. "It's great for him. It gives everyone a lift when people start coming back from injury, especially those of good quality. "When quality lads and quality people come back, the lads feel good for them. "I know they do because they've all been there knowing how difficult it is for them missing games." Murray has made 100 starts for Wolves since making his debut in the 3-2 defeat at MK Dons more than seven years ago. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
