Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo will be out for three to four weeks after aggravating an ankle injury on Saturday in World Cup qualifying with Portugal, the La Liga club announced Sunday. Ronaldo was doubtful to play in Portugal's 3-0 win over Hungary, but started. He left the match in the first half, and Madrid confirmed the player's status Sunday. "A clinical examination and a scan showed the player had suffered a recurrence of the injury to his right ankle," Real said in a statement on their website. The reigning FIFA World Player of the Year initially injured his ankle against Marseille last month, and lasted just 27 minutes Saturday in Portugal's match. Portugal is second in Group 1 and a needs a win against Malta on Wednesday to wrap up a spot in next month's playoffs for one of the final four berths from Europe. Ronaldo will miss Wednesday's match, and will also likely miss Real Madrid's Champions League match against AC Milan later this month.
