Beijing, China (My Sportsbook) - Novak Djokovic of Serbia captured his third title of 2009 with a straight-set win over Croatia's Marin Cilic in the final of the China Open. The second-seeded Djokovic earned a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) victory Sunday for his 14th career singles crown. Djokovic, who dropped only one set en route to the title and a $500,000 first-place prize, has now taken all four meetings with Cilic. "It's a great feeling. So far I've had lots of success on Asian soil and in Beijing I have only the best memories," Djokovic said. "Last year I reached the late stages of the Olympics and won the bronze medal and this year I won the tournament (China Open). So I have a great record here." Cilic, the eighth-seed this week as a wild card entry, lost for the first time in four career final appearances. "In the second set I was playing well and was three times a break up, twice serving for the set, but in some moments I missed very easy balls and let him off the hook," Cilic said. "He was pretty consistent today and took more chances than I did and definitely the break point chances (I could not convert) hurt me in the end." The match was delayed 90 minutes because of rain.
