Foxboro, MA (My Sportsbook) - New England Patriots running back Fred Taylor is out for Sunday's game against the undefeated Broncos, while several of his teammates are questionable for the tilt. Taylor, who leads the team with 201 rushing yards, reportedly had surgery on his right ankle this week. The Florida Times-Union indicated the veteran had a high sprain and tore a couple of ligaments in the ankle. His return to the field has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, Jerod Mayo, last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year, might return to action for the first time since injuring his knee in the season opener. The linebacker was back at practice this week on a limited bases. Several other Patriots were limited this week and were listed as questionable for Sunday, including offensive tackle Nick Kaczur (ankle), defensive back Shawn Springs (knee), wide receiver Wes Welker (knee), defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (ankle), and safety James Sanders (shoulder). Linebacker Adalius Thomas and wide receiver Randy Moss missed time at practice this week due to non-injury related issues but are expected to play.
