Manchester, England (My Sportsbook) - Le Havre has denied Manchester United's claim that FIFA has given them permission to sign teenager Paul Pogba. United released a statement on Wednesday claiming that they had been cleared to sign the 16-year-old defender. A club spokesman told United's official website: "Manchester United is pleased to confirm that the Football Association has been authorized by FIFA to register Paul Pogba as a United player with immediate effect." However, the French club claim that United have been too hasty in going public with FIFA's finding after the world governing body was called on to look into the case. Le Havre made their complaint after Chelsea were banned from signing any new players until 2011, after FIFA accused the Blues of illegally inducing Gael Kakuta to join the club from Lens in 2007. "Contrary to what Manchester United state on their official website, FIFA have not validated the transfer of Paul Pogba but, as they normally do in this type of case, have issued a provisional international certificate," read a statement on Le Havre's official website. "The decision of the international body is therefore a non-event and is normal procedure." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
