Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - New England Patriots running back Fred Taylor reportedly needs surgery to repair his injured right ankle. The Boston Globe quoted a source from ESPN on Thursday, saying that Taylor injured the ankle on his final carry of the Patriots' 27-21 win over Baltimore last Sunday. It is not clear how many games he would be absent for, but Taylor isn't expected to miss the rest of the regular season. On the season, his first with New England after spending his previous 11 seasons with Jacksonville, he has 201 yards on 45 carries with two touchdowns.
