ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -An MRI on Monday confirmed that Hunter Smith pulled a groin on his first punt in Sunday's 16-13 win over Tampa Bay. So the Washington Redskins might have to live without Hunter the Punter for a while. Coach Jim Zorn said the injury is not ``severe,'' but the team is planning to audition out-of-work punters on Tuesday to find a possible fill-in before next week's game against Carolina. Even if he can't punt against the Panthers, Smith could still play in the game as the holder on field goals and extra point. Against the Bucs, Smith was replaced by placekicker Shaun Suisham, who hadn't punted since high school. Suisham punted three times for a 26.7-yard average. Smith has punted 13 times this season for a 43.5-yard average.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
