Hamilton, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - St Johnstone claimed its first win of the season on Saturday as they knocked off Hamilton, 2-0 at New Douglas Park. Steven Anderson scored right before halftime and Daniel Grainger put the result out of reach with six minutes to play, allowing the promoted side to move off the bottom of the table and into 10th place. With the loss, Hamilton drops to 11th in the standings, one point above last- placed Falkirk. Kenny Deuchar brought a slow match to life in the 19th minute when he stole the ball from Trent McClenahan and fed it to Liam Craig, who smashed his shot off the outside of the post. St Johnstone was getting the better of the play and they finally found the breakthrough right before halftime when Martin Hardie headed Craig's corner kick back across the face of goal for Anderson to nod home. Anderson was then called upon to maintain St Johnstone's one-goal lead when he cleared a ball off the goal line eight minutes after the restart, and the points were then secured with six minutes left as Grainger made a good run down the wing before smacking an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Hibernian moved into second place after a 1-1 draw with Dundee United, Motherwell got past Falkirk 1-0 on a goal from Lucas Jutkiewicz in the 18th minute, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock finished 1-1 at Rugby Park and Craig Dargo's goal in the 65th minute handed St Mirren a 2-1 win over Hearts.
