New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson and Philadelphia Eagles punt returner DeSean Jackson were chosen as the NFC's top players for the month of September.

Brees was named offensive player of the month after leading the Saints to a 3-0 record. He started the season with a six-touchdown effort in a 45-27 rout of Detroit, tying the franchise record. The next week in Philadelphia, his three touchdown passes helped the team to a 48-22 win over the Eagles. He closed out the month by leading the Saints to a 27-7 win at Buffalo. In his ninth season out of Purdue, Brees took his second monthly award.

Woodson was selected as the defensive player of the month as he helped the Packers to wins in two of their first three games. His best game of the month came in a 31-24 loss to Cincinnati, as he had 10 tackles and two interceptions, including one he took back 37 yards for a score. Overall, he totaled 18 tackles and tied for the NFL lead with three interceptions. Woodson, in his 12th season out of Michigan, earned his second monthly award.

Jackson nabbed special teams honors thanks to a 22.2-yard punt-return average, including an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown, which helped the Eagles go 2-1 in the month. In addition, he had 12 catches for 259 yards and two scores, as well as five carries for 48 yards. Jackson recorded touchdowns of 85, 71 and 64 yards and became the first player in NFL history to record a 60-plus- yard touchdown in each of the first three games of the season. In his second year out of California, Jackson took his first monthly award.
