Manchester, England (My Sportsbook) - Michael Carrick's goal in the 78th minute helped Manchester United rally from one goal down in the second half to claim a 2-1 win over Wolfsburg in Champions League Group B play at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Edin Dzeko headed Wolfsburg into the lead in the 55th minute, but a deflected free kick from Ryan Giggs leveled the match before Carrick fired a first-time shot past Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio from the edge of the area with 12 minutes to play.
The win gives United six points from its first two games, putting the Red Devils on top of the group, while Wolfsburg is level on three points with CSKA Moscow after the Russian side beat Besiktas, 2-1 on Wednesday.
Wayne Rooney came close to putting United in front with a 35-yard free kick that skipped past the post, while Antonio Valencia rolled a shot just wide after a nice pass from Dimitar Berbatov.
The best chance of the opening half fell to Carrick as he was played in behind the Wolfsburg defense by Berbatov, but had his shot stopped at close range.
Anderson forced a diving stop from Benaglio early in the second half, but the German side took the lead just one minute later when Makoto Hasebe lofted a cross to the back post for Dzeko to head home.
United was back on level terms only three minutes later when a free kick from Giggs struck the Wolfsburg wall and found its way inside the left post, leaving the keeper with no chance.
Rooney then missed by inches with a shot that was headed towards the upper right corner, while Giggs also had a hand in the winning goal with 12 minutes to play as he dropped the ball back to Carrick at the edge of the box and the former Tottenham man drilled a first-time shot past the keeper.
Wolfsburg had one last chance to get something from the contest when Josue found space near the top of the box to get off a shot, but it sailed past the post.
FC Zurich pulled off the surprise of the day as they went to the San Siro and came away with a 1-0 win over AC Milan in Group C. Hannu Tihinen scored the game's lone goal in the 10th minute, while Real Madrid got a pair of second- half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo to beat Marseille, 3-0.
The win leaves Real on top of the group with six points, while Zurich and Milan are level on three points. Marseille sits on the bottom having lost its first two games.
Bayern Munich remains on top of Group A after their 0-0 draw at home against Juventus, while Bordeaux joins the German side on four points from two games after the French champions got past Maccabi Haifa, 1-0, on a goal from Michael Ciani in the 83rd minute.
Nicolas Anelka scored Chelsea's lone goal for the second successive time as the Blues recorded another 1-0 win, this time at APOEL, while FC Porto bounced back from a loss to Chelsea on Matchday 1 to knock off Atletico Madrid, 2-0.
Radamel Falcao and Rolando scored goals in the last 15 minutes for the Portuguese side, which sits in second place behind Chelsea, while APOEL and Atletico each own one point.
