London, England (My Sportsbook) - Robin Van Persie scored in the 78th minute and Andrei Arshavin added the clincher in the 86th, as Arsenal finally solved Olympiacos goalie Antonis Nikopolidis to earn a 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday in the Champions League.
Arsenal peppered Nikopolidis, who helped Greece win Euro 2004, throughout the match but the longtime Olympiacos goalie turned away shot after shot until the final 15 minutes.
Van Persie finished from six yards out and Arshavin added a great between-the- legs backheel finish, both set up by Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal, which rallied from two goals down to win its group stage opener over Standard Liege, took command in Group H with the win. Standard Liege tied AZ 1-1 in the group's other match.
English rival Liverpool couldn't follow suit Tuesday, losing 2-0 at Fiorentina in Group E, which saw Lyon move to the top with a 4-0 win over Debrecen.
Barcelona disposed of Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 to take the lead in Group F, while Inter Milan stumbled to a 1-1 draw at Rubin. Sevilla crushed Rangers 4-1 to take the top spot in Group G, followed by Stuttgart after its 1-1 draw against Unirea.

Fabregas hit the crossbar in the 16th, and Tomas Rosicky latched onto the ball only to be denied by Nikopolidis. Nikopolidis frustrated Arshavin again in the 19th, and denied Fabregas in the 26th.
Van Persie had one last chance before half, but after making a few nice moves to lose a defender, had his curling shot saved by Nikopolidis.
Olympiacos had its best chance five minutes into the second half when a corner found Olof Mellberg in the area and he headed toward the right post. Arsenal goalie Vito Mannone dove to tip the ball wide, even though a defender had the post covered.
Nikopolidis was back under pressure in the 51st, denying Van Persie off a shot from 16 yards out. Van Persie was denied again in the 73rd, and William Gallas couldn't sneak the rebound by Nikopolidis either.
Arsenal finally broke through in the 78th when Fabregas freed Eduardo into the left side of the area and he drove to the end line before slipping a pass back across the top of the six-yard box. Van Persie ran onto the perfect ball and finished from close range for his 12th career goal in Champions League play.
Although Arsenal was in control, Arshavin sealed all the points in the closing minutes when he waited for a pass from the right from Fabregas, let the ball roll through his legs and backheeled inside the left post from close range.
Fabregas nearly completed his outing with a goal in the 88th, but Nikopolidis made one more save - his ninth of the match - to cap his great performance.
Standard Liege avoided an 0-2 start when Traore Moussa scored in the 90th of a draw at AZ, leaving the rest of group wide open.
