Edmonton, AB (My Sportsbook) - The Edmonton Eskimos announced on Monday that defensive tackle Dario Romero was placed on the injured list and will miss the remainder of the season. Romero suffered a torn biceps tendon on Saturday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He had six sacks and 22 tackles in 2009. In a related move, the club signed defensive lineman Jerome Haywood. The eight-year CFL veteran has 29 sacks to go along with 223 tackles over 107 career contests with Ottawa, Montreal and Winnipeg. "Having Dario out for the rest of the season is a huge loss," Eskimos head coach Richie Hall said. "The passion, skill and heart he brings to the game are unlike many others. Haywood does however bring a lot of the attributes Dario has to the Eskimos and we are looking forward to having him be a part of the team." Edmonton also reached a practice squad agreement with linebacker Frantz Joseph.
