Tampa, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released linebacker Matt McCoy and have promoted wide receiver Mario Urrutia from the practice squad to the active roster. McCoy played the first two games of the season, primarily on special teams, but did start the season opener against Dallas after Geno Hayes was benched for a late arrival on the morning of the game. The Bucs may need depth at the receiver position for Sunday's game against the New York Giants with Maurice Stovall doubtful because of a knee injury and Antonio Bryant questionable with a knee problem. Urrutia had seven catches for 85 yards in the preseason for the Bucs, but the former Louisville standout was among the team's last cuts. He was then signed to the practice squad.
