Delaware, OH (My Sportsbook) - Well Said, Meadowlands Pace champ, won Thursday's $609,150 Little Brown Jug at the Delaware County Fair. The leading three-year-old pacer adds the second leg of pacing's Triple Crown to his already illustrious bio.

Starting from post two in the third heat of the 64th Little Brown Jug, Well Said came from off the pace to defeat If I Can Dream who won the day's first elimination heat. Straight Shooting finishing third and River Shark fourth in the eight horse field.

Completing the order of finish was Cane Pace winner Vintage Master, Mr Wiggles, Sheer Desire and Carnivore.

Driven by Ron Pierce, Well Said won the second of two elimination races over Vintage Master. If I Can Dream, with Tim Tetrick driving, defeated Straight Shooting to take the first elimination race.

Well Said, trained by Steve Elliott, was sent off the as 1-5 favorite in the Jug Final and paced the mile in 1:51 4/5 on a track listed as good. In the second elimination heat the colt covered the mile in 1:51 1/5. If I Can Dream won his heat in 1:52 flat.

For the final Well Said returned $2.40, $2.10 and $2.10. If I Can Dream paid $3.20 and $2.60, and Straight Shooting paid $5.00 to show.

Owned by Jeffrey Snyder and Lothlorien, Well Said adds $300,000 to his bankroll for 2009 which now totals $1.9 million. In his two year career the colt has won 14 of 24 starts for $2.5 million.

Along with the Meadowland Pace, Well Said won the North America Cup and was coming off back-to-back wins in the Battle of the Brandywine and Simcoe Stakes. Well Said was third to Vintage Master in the Adios Final in early August.

It was recently announced that Well Said will retire at the end of 2009 to begin a career as a stallion at Hanover Shoe Farms in Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey Snyder owned 2002 Little Brown Jug champion Million Dollar Cam and Hall of Fame driver Ron Pierce had earlier won the Little Brown Jug three times with Shady Character (1998), Blissfull Hall (1999) and Timesareachanging (2004).

The final leg of pacing's Triple Crown will be the Messenger Stakes at Yonkers on Saturday, November 7.

With no Triple Crown sweep possible this year, No Pan Intended remains the last pacer, in 2003, to capture the Triple Crown.
