Tashkent, Uzbekistan (My Sportsbook) - Top-seeded Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan highlighted Wednesday's second-round winners at the $220,000 Tashkent Open. Shvedova easily downed Russian Ekaterina Ivanova 7-5, 6-2 on the hardcourts at Olympic Tennis School. A Day-3 upset saw Belarus' Darya Kustova rally to down eighth-seeded Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (11-9). Two other second-round matches on Wednesday saw fifth-seeded Swiss Stefanie Voegele take out wild card Nigina Abduraimova of the host nation 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 and sixth-seeded Romanian Monica Niculescu defeat Russian Evgeniya Rodina 6-1, 6-4. Second-seeded Shahar Peer of Israel, last week's Guangzhou champion, played her first-round matchup on Wednesday and defeated Maret Ani of Estonia 6-1, 6-2. Also, fourth-seeded Belarusian Olga Govortsova knocked out Russian qualifier Arina Rodionova 6-3, 6-2 in another first-round matchup on Day 3. The 2009 Tashkent titlist will earn $37,000.
