Orchard Park, NY (My Sportsbook) - Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Brad Butler was officially placed on injured reserve Tuesday as the team quickly responded by signing offensive lineman Jamon Meredith from Green Bay's practice squad. Butler sustained a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's win against Tampa Bay when the Bucs' Stylez White rolled up on his knee. Bills head coach Dick Jauron on Monday said Butler would need surgery, but did not give details as to the severity of the injury or when the procedure would take place. Jonathan Scott took over for Butler on Sunday and will likely continue to start at right tackle while the signing of Meredith provides depth at both the tackle and guard positions. A 2009 fifth-round pick by the Packers, Meredith was a three-year starter at South Carolina. He played both tackle positions over his first two years before moving to left guard for his senior season. The Bills also placed tight end Derek Schouman on injured reserve and promoted tight end Jonathan Stupar to the 53-man roster. In addition, linebacker Alvin Bowen was released from the practice squad and linebacker Marcus Freeman was added in his place.
