St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Jason Smith, the second overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, suffered a sprained left knee during Sunday's 9-7 loss against the Washington Redskins. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Smith underwent an MRI and that the rookie will not need surgery. Spagnuolo added Smith would be listed as doubtful for this Sunday's home contest against Green Bay. "Originally, they thought it was a meniscus it's not that," said Spagnuolo. "I couldn't give you all the technical terms except that it is a sprained knee that does not require surgery. He'll be able to rehab it. It's doubtful this week. Doubtful you hope turns to probable." Adam Goldberg replaced Smith during Sunday's game and is likely to get the start against the Packers. "The one thing about Adam you're going to know is no matter where he's going to have to plug-in; he's going to know what to do," said Spagnuolo. "That's the kind of guy he is. That's what you need to be a back up in the NFL. I thought he did a real nice job."
