Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a groin strain on Sunday, one of several Eagles players to be hurt during the club's home opener. Eagles head coach Andy Reid addressed that injury, as well as others during his Monday press conference. Reid said Jackson will be further evaluated later this week, as will running back Brian Westbrook, who left the Birds' 48-22 loss to New Orleans late in the contest after spraining his right ankle -- the same one on which he had off-season surgery. In addition, cornerback Dmitri Patterson broke one of his hands and will undergo surgery by the end of this week. He is expected to miss at least the next couple games. Safety Asante Samuel also left the game in the fourth quarter with a stinger, but is expected to be ready next Sunday when the Eagles host Kansas City. Reid also updated the status of quarterback Donovan McNabb, who missed Sunday's game with a broken rib, saying McNabb is not yet ready to have contact during practice. Should he not be able to start, Kevin Kolb has been tabbed as starter.
