Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Real Madrid's debt has increased to $480 million in the wake of their massive summer spending spree. Real have spent approximately $365 million on, amongst others, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso as they attempt to build a squad capable of challenging for honors both domestically and in Europe. "We're going through a delicate moment with the world financial crisis but we had to make a big effort for the new arrivals of players, which explains the debt," said club president Florentino Perez. The club remains optimistic that they will be able to cut their debt to under $300 million by the end of the season. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
