Boise, ID (My Sportsbook) - Blake Adams had an up-and-down round Saturday, but managed to remain on top of the leaderboard after three rounds of the Boise Open.

Adams carded an even-par 71 and leads by two strokes after 54 holes. He completed three rounds at 14-under-par 199 and will go for his first tour win on Sunday.

"I'm fortunate to have a lead for as poorly as I played today," admitted Adams, who owns the 54-hole lead for the first time in his Nationwide Tour career. "It was terrible. I put myself in bad spots. The golf course definitely beat me today, but a cushion is a cushion."

Fran Quinn and Jonas Blixt both shot three-under 68 Saturday and are tied for second at 12-under-par 201, while Ron Whittaker and Roger Tambellini both fired seven-under 64s to move into a share of fourth at minus-11.

Adams birdied the third, but gave that stroke back with a bogey on the fifth at Hillcrest Country Club. It looked like Adams might run away from there.

Starting on the sixth, he posted three birdies in the next four holes, including a hole-out from a bunker on seven, to jump to 17-under, where he led by five.

"I was very fortunate to be three-under at that point," stated Adams. "My greens hit-to-birdie ratio was probably pretty good. I holed out from a bunker and had some good looks at some birdie putts."

However, Adams gave them all back and then some. He faltered to back-to-back bogeys on 10 and 11. His struggles continued as he dropped shots on 13 and 15 to fall back to minus-13, where his lead was just one.

Adams got one stroke back with a two-putt birdie on the par-five 16th to get back to even-par for his round and minus-14 overall. He parred the final two holes to end two clear.

"I knew I wasn't playing well. It didn't matter if I was two shots down or four shots up again," said Adams. "I had enough to worry about because I couldn't figure out where my golf ball was going. It was a bad day overall."

Lucas Lee fired a seven-under 64 Saturday to jump into a share of sixth place at 10-under-par 203. He was joined there by Craig Bowden (68) and Andrew Buckle (66).

Tom Gillis, who is third on the Nationwide Tour money list, is one of seven players tied for ninth at minus-nine.
