San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson will miss San Diego's home opener on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens due to a sprained ankle. Tomlinson, who will miss just the second game of his career, sustained the injury during San Diego's 24-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Monday night. The 5-foot-10 running back had a groin injury in January that forced him to miss the Chargers' playoff loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Steelers. The Texas Christian product rushed for 55 yards and a score on 13 carries last week versus the Raiders. Darren Sproles, who scored the game-winning TD on Monday, will start at running back for the Chargers against the Ravens. Sproles also caught five passes for 43 yards versus Oakland. San Diego will also be without center Nick Hardwick (ankle) and defensive end Travis Johnson (groin) on Sunday. Right guard Louis Vasquez (knee), linebacker Antwan Applewhite (hamstring) and defensive tackle Jamal Williams (elbow) are listed as questionable.
