Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid indicated Friday that quarterback Donovan McNabb is being labeled as doubtful for Sunday's home opener against the New Orleans Saints. McNabb sat out practice during the week after suffering a fractured rib last Sunday against Carolina. Reid said McNabb was feeling better and will continue to rehab the injury but all signs point to third-year pro Kevin Kolb making his first NFL start come Sunday with only one week in the books. Reid announced earlier in the week that Kolb would be his starting QB should McNabb be unable to go. Jeff Garcia -- signed by the team on Monday -- would serve as the backup. Michael Vick still has one game remaining on his suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy following his prison sentence on dogfighting charges. He was taken off the exempt list this week and is working with the team in practice. Kolb took over for McNabb during the third quarter of Philadelphia's 38-10 victory last Sunday, but didn't lead the Eagles to any points. In his time behind center, Kolb threw for just 23 yards on 7-of-11 passing. He was also sacked twice and lost a fumble. In addition to McNabb, safety Quintin Demps has been ruled out for Sunday with a hamstring strain while defensive end Victor Abiamiri is questionable with a groin strain.
