Dundee, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - After finishing seventh in the Scottish Premier League last season, Motherwell brought in new manager Jim Gannon with the hopes that he could return them to the top half, and so far the results have been positive.
Motherwell may have just one win in four games, but the other three results have all been draws, including a 0-0 stalemate with defending champions Rangers last time out.
Gannon's side could have taken all three points from Gers in the final five minutes, but Jim O'Brien had a penalty kick stopped, forcing his team to settle for a point.
However, Gannon has been pleased with the start of his new team, and he found plenty of positives following the Rangers match.
"I'm proud of the way that they went about their business, both on and off the ball," said Gannon following the game.
"I want to concentrate on how we played this afternoon and I think you would see there were a number of outstanding individual performances this afternoon, particularly coming up against the Premier League champions.
"In that dressing room after the game you could see the confidence going through the side. We can now tell them they are good enough to compete at this level and that can only help us this season."
Motherwell is currently fourth in the table with six points from four games, and O'Brien has been pleased with the efforts of his new boss, who he believes can help the team achieve its goal of a top-half finish.
"If we can keep building on what we've achieved so far, the top six is a realistic aim. "The new boss has fine-tuned the team and he briefs you really well on the opposition, so I think that's been a factor in us doing so well.
"We're benefiting from that on the pitch, and the confidence in the dressing room is really high, just because of the way we are playing."
Confidence will be even higher if the club can come away from Tannadice Park on Saturday with a win against Dundee United, who is also unbeaten through four games with two wins and two draws.
United is also coming off of a positive result as they earned a 1-1 draw at Celtic last weekend, and they will be hoping to remain close to the top two sides with a win.
Rangers visits Kilmarnock on Saturday after a strong performance in the Champions League in midweek that saw Walter Smith's men earn a 1-1 draw against Stuttgart in Germany, while Celtic lost 2-1 to Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Europa League and looks to bounce back on Sunday at home to Hearts.
Aberdeen and St Mirren are level on five points in the middle of the table and they get together at Pittodrie Stadium, Falkirk goes for its first win of the season at Hamilton, and promoted St Johnstone visits Hibernian also looking for its first victory of the season.
