New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Roger Federer has been fined $1,500 for cursing during his loss to Juan Martin del Potro in Monday's U.S. Open final. Multiple media outlets, including the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, reported the fine, which was levied after TV microphones picked up Federer using a curse word while arguing with the chair umpire. The amount of his fine is substantially less than that given to Serena Williams. She was fined $10,000 for her actions -- verbally abusing a line judge -- at the end of her semifinal loss to Kim Clijsters.
