Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - Tamika Catchings recorded game-highs of 26 points and 12 rebounds, pacing the top-seeded Indiana Fever to an 88-79 win in Game 1 of their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series with Washington. Indiana will look to wrap up the three-game series at home on Saturday. Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown logged 19 and 12 points, respectively, for Indiana, while Briann January was a spark off the bench with 16 points. Crystal Langhorne notched 18 points and 10 boards, and Marissa Coleman 16 and eight for the fourth-seeded Mystics, whose leading scorer, Alana Beard, was held to nine points on 4-of-12 shooting. Indiana took Washington's best punch in the first three quarters and trailed 58-56 heading to the final stanza. There, the Fever showed why they're the No. 1 seed in the East, starting the frame with a 17-3 run. The Mystics had the deficit down to three, 79-76, with two minutes left, but a three-point play by Catchings all but sealed the game's outcome. Washington got off to a fast start and led, 27-23, after the first quarter and maintained its four-point lead at the break.
