New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Washington Mystics forward/center Crystal Langhorne has been named the WNBA's Most Improved Player for the 2009 campaign. In just her second season, Langhorne went from 4.8 points per game to 12.0 and raised her rebounding average from 4.0 to 7.9. Also, she posted higher numbers in her sophomore season in almost every offensive category. She tied for third among WNBA players in rebounds and was second in offensive rebounds (3.0) and totals (101). By the middle of the season she was in the starting lineup and averaged nearly 30 minutes of playing time per game. The sixth pick of the 2008 draft, she was third on the team in scoring and led the Mystics in rebounds. She had nine double-doubles on the season. Langhorne received 19 first-place votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Atlanta Dream forward Sancho Lyttle finished second with six votes.
