Charlotte, NC (My Sportsbook) - The Carolina Panthers will place quarterback Josh McCown on injured reserve and add quarterback A.J. Feeley after a physical on Tuesday, the team announced on Monday. McCown suffered sprains to both his left knee and left foot after a hit by Philadelphia's Darren Howard on Sunday. It is a six-week injury, but the team doesn't have time to wait for him to recover. "The whole thing's frustrating," McCown said. "It's a bummer because you get a chance to play regular-season football for the first time in awhile, and I was excited about that. For that (injury) to happen, it kind of stunk." Feeley, who was released by the Eagles after the signing of Michael Vick, will be signed once he passes a physical in Charlotte. He will take McCown's roster spot. Feeley, 32, has played in 23 games (15 starts) over five NFL seasons, which includes two separate stints with Philadelphia and a year with Miami. He has completed 372-of-665 career passes for 4,070 yards and 27 touchdowns, with 29 interceptions. Feeley is not expected to start for the Panthers, as Carolina head coach John Fox announced in a press conference Monday that Jake Delhomme will keep his job despite throwing four interceptions in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
