Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Storm and Brian Agler, the club's head coach and director of player and personnel, agreed to a new two-year contract on Monday. The agreement runs through 2011 and includes an option for a third year. "We are thrilled that Brian Agler will continue building on what has been a very successful two-year tenure with the Storm organization," Storm president Karen Bryant said. "During his short time here, he has led the team to two 20- win seasons and established the Storm as one of the top defensive teams in the WNBA." After a franchise-best 2008 campaign (22-12), the Storm finished 20-14 this season in Agler's second year at the helm, good for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Agler has coached in some capacity in the WNBA since 1999, starting with a three-year stint as general manager and head coach of the Minnesota Lynx.
