Montreal, QC (My Sportsbook) - Avon Cobourne rushed for 42 yards on nine carries and scored the game-winning touchdown with 45 seconds to play, as the Montreal Alouettes snuck past the British Columbia Lions, 28-24, at Percival Molson Stadium.

Anthony Calvillo completed 29-of-41 passes for 334 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Alouettes (8-2), who have won five of their last six games. Calvillo also rushed for 43 yards and a score. Jamel Richardson brought in 11 balls for 103 yards and a TD for the victors while Kerry Watkins hauled in five passes for 133 yards.

Jarious Jackson connected on 16-of-32 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns and a pick for the Lions (4-6), who have lost four of five. Martell Mallett rushed for 66 yards on 14 carries while Geroy Simon caught seven passes for 128 yards and a score in defeat.

Trailing 20-10 entering the fourth quarter, the Lions scored two quick touchdowns to take a 24-20 lead. Ryan Grice-Mullen got things started when he scampered into the end zone from one yard out to cap an eight-play, 83-yard drive. Jackson then connected with Simon on a 43-yard TD pass with about 7 1/2 minutes to play.

A Montreal single cut the gap to three and the Als took over with less than two minutes to play on their own 29. Montreal marched down the field and Cobourne took a handoff at the BC 12, rushed down the left sideline and into the end zone for the eventual game-winning score. Watkins highlighted the five-play, 91-yard drive with a 56-yard reception.

Calvillo hit Richardson with a two-yard TD pass to give Montreal a 7-0 lead early in the second. A pair of field goals by Damon Duval from 19 and 25 yards out sandwiched around a 33-yard boot by BC's Sean Whyte allowed for a 13-3 Als lead at the half.

The Alouettes maintained a 10-point lead heading to the final 15 minutes as Jackson and O'Neil Wilson connected on a 19-yard TD pass for the Lions, and Montreal scored on a nine-yard rush by Calvillo.

Game Notes

O'Neil caught two passes for 31 yards to go along with his TD...BC head coach Wally Buono is one win shy of his 232nd win. When the victory finally arrives for Buono it will give him the all-time record in the CFL, one more than current record holder Don Matthews...Dante Marsh had six tackles and a pick for the Lions. Montreal's defense was led by Anwar Stewart and Shea Emry, both of whom recorded six tackles and a sack.
