Amsterdam, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Dario Cvitanich scored a hat trick on Sunday at Amsterdam Arena as Ajax cruised to a 6-0 thrashing of NAC, moving the Amsterdam side to within one point of the league lead. PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Twente sit atop the table with 14 points, while Ajax has now taken 13 points from its first six games. Cvitanich scored twice in the first half while Jan Vertonghen and Luis Suarez also tallied goals in the first 45 minutes as Ajax ran out to a 4-0 lead at halftime. Kennedy Bakircioglu added a fifth goal shortly after the restart and Cvitanich completed his hat trick just after the hour mark. It took 11 minutes for Cvitanich to open the scoring as Bakircioglu forced a save from goalkeeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar and picked up his own rebound. He then squared the ball to Cvitanich for an easy finish. Vertonghen then doubled the lead with a well-struck free kick seven minutes later, and the NAC defense made a terrible mistake to hand Ajax a third goal when Donny Gorter's back pass was intercepted by Suarez and he beat the keeper. Demy De Zeeuw picked out Cvitanich inside the area for goal number four right before halftime, while Ten Rouwelaar misjudged a cross from Suarez that allowed Bakircioglu to head home the fifth goal. Cvitanich then finished off the scoring in the 63rd minute when he drilled a shot past the keeper from inside the area. Feyenoord won for the fourth time in six games as they got two goals from Jon Dahl Tomasson in a 3-2 win over Willem II, Sandro Calabro's eighth-minute goal stood up for Venlo as they downed Heracles, 1-0, RKC Waalwijk suffered its sixth successive defeat as they fell 1-0 to Sparta, and NEC scored two goals in the final five minutes to earn a 2-2 draw with Vitesse.
